Up for the PS3 is a 3D platform game in the vein of Lego Star Wars. Graphics are well done and over the course of the game, you’ll have a chance to control Carl, Russell, Dug and Kevin. The game consists of single or co-op play with various levels that follow the movie (or expand on its premise with unseen worlds to explore). Control of the characters is good as you maneuver around the jungle, fighting off various enemies, climbing, jumping and solving simple puzzles.

The levels themselves are well designed and many areas require both Carl and Russell to team up to solve a puzzle. Carl’s main skill is to use his cane as a weapon and a tool to reach high ledges. Russell can shimmy along ledges to get to places Carl can’t, and can then toss down some rope to pull Carl up. There are various other teamwork skills that will be required over the course of your adventure.

There’s quite a bit of variety on display here after you’ve played through the game. There are various bugs, merit badges and other items to collect. This will unlock trophies, artwork and movie clips. There are also three multi-player mini-games (airplane dog fights). The game is a bit on the short side, but if you love the characters, this is an adventure worth taking, especially with two players.

I think that Up is a fun little platformer with good graphics, great sound effects/voice work and a fun co-operative play!
