iTunes Version of Up Includes Exclusive Short: George and A.J.!

I have mixed feelings about this, but the iTunes version of Up includes an exclusive short entitled George and A.J. This 4 minute 2D/full color storyboarded short follows the Shady Oaks caretakers from Carl taking off on through the aftermath. Without spoiling too much, we see George & A.J. and their adventures trying to escort other elderly folks who have been “inspired” by Carl’s antics. The iTunes download also includes Partly Cloudy, Dug’s Special Mission and two documentaries (Adventure is Out There! and the Many Endings of Muntz). The Standard Definition version is $14.99 and the High Definition version is $19.99

I’m a bit disappointed that you have to buy another version of the film in order to see this short. It seems that it would be a great extra to include via BD Live for Blu-ray owners. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it’s released to everyone in the future.

Here’s a list of credits for the short.

George and A.J.

Written and Directed by Josh Cooley. Executive Produced by Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera.  Produced by Galyn Susman.

Jason Topolski is George and A.J. Riebli III is the voice of A.J. Bob Peterson reprises his voice work as Dug and Peter Sohn is the voice of Russell. Steve Purcell takes over as the voice of Carl.
