- After much speculation (including a January post that I removed from the site at Pixar’s request), Coming Soon has unveiled the first image and information about the short that will precede Toy Story 3. Day & Night is directed by renowned Pixar character designer Teddy Newton and the score will be composed by Michael Giacchino. Jerry Beck is reporting that “the images insides the characters will be CG, but it’s essentially a 2D short). Sounds very interesting! The plot description (that has nothing to do with dinosaurs) is as follows:
When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other’s unique qualities–and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world–the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.
- Lee Unkrich has tweeted that he will be at Wondercon on April 3rd to present a “sneak peek” of Toy Story 3. Should just be some clips, but we’ll report back if anything major is shared.
- The International Toy Story 3 poster was also released. I really like the look of this poster, but it does not feature any of the new characters from the film.
So what do you think about all these exciting developments?
