Toy Story 3 & Cars Toons DVD/Blu-Ray + No Nemo?

It looks likes a mix of good news and bad news for Friday the 13th. Some of the rumors came true (cover art, 2 Blu-ray variations), while others did not. Two different Toy Story 3 Blu-ray versions released on November 2nd. The only difference is the inclusion of a DVD + Digital Copy. Cover art for both is above. A standard DVD (with a slew of missing features will be released as well).

Update: Here’s the extra features!

DVD Version

  • Teaser (HD) Cars 2 early sneak peak
  • Day And Night theatrical short
  • Toys! Epilogue (So you can watch it separately from the film)
  • Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs: The Science Of Adventure
  • Paths To Pixar: Editorial
  • Studio Stories: Cereal Bar & Clean Start
  • A Toy’s Eye View: Creating A Whole New Land (at Hong Kong Disneyland)
  • Alex Syntek Music Video

Blu-ray (all of the above, plus the following exclusives)

  • Cine-explore with director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson
  • Beyond The Toybox – Commentary track with story, technical and animation artists)
  • Beginnings with Michael Arndt
  • Bonnie’s Playtime – A story roundtable
  • Roundin’ Up A Western Opening
  • Studio Story: Where’s Gordon?
  • The Gang’s All Here (Voice Cast)
  • Goodbye Andy (Character Design)
  • The Accidental Toymakers Of Pixar
  • Life Of A Short
  • Making of Day And Night
  • Ken’s dating tips, Lotso commercials
  • “Dancing With The Stars” at Pixar
  • Trailers and more
  • Game: Toy Story Trivia Dash with Woody, Buzz, Rex and Jessie

As I predicted earlier, a Cars Toon compilation with all nine Mater Tall Tales will also be released in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on the same date (including the never before seen Moon Mater and Mater, P.I.).   The 38 minute collection will be available on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo pack or a single DVD edition. Extras include the featurette “Unmade Tall Tales” and a sneak peek of Disney’s California Adventures upcoming Cars Land.

The bad news is that we won’t be seeing a Finding Nemo Blu-ray this year. It seems this release has been mentioned (but never formally announced) for the past three years. It looks like we will be waiting a bit longer..

  1. Nick says:

Well I will certainly be buying the full blu-ray package! How could I not? I am very much looking forward to watching this again. I wanted to see it in theaters again but most seem to be cutting back already! Stinks.

I am enjoying the Mater Toons as well. They are living up to the Cars level and it makes me look forward to Cars 2.

On the Nemo blu-ray release I am still very upset this has not made it yet. I sure hope they are treating it well and making lots of features, because really, it should be out already. Thanks for the updates as always.

  2. Izaac says:

I still can't get past the dodgy Lightning McQueen voice work on Cars Toons. Surely, knowing Cars 2 was coming up, they could have pulled Owen Wilson off some cheap movie to record a mornings worth of lines.

  3. richperrotti says:

Lots of good news here. The features on the TS3 BluRay look fantastic; I love Cine-explore (could also care less about BD Live! Silly stuff normally.) Cars Toons should be fun much like the Pixar Shorts Vol. 1. I'm perfectly willing to be patient on Nemo and Incredibles on Blu because I'm certain that they're going to be fabulous once they arrive. Quality knows no time line!

  4. Josh says:

A little bummed about the Nemo news but super excited for Toy Story. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting for Nemo….

I am very much looking forward to watching this again.
